our story
This isn't our first rodeo. Our family’s adventure in the entertainment industry began back in 2007. Over the past 17 years, we've owned and operated eight different businesses, with Wild West Bowling being our most ambitious venture yet.
Our founder, Tom Kennedy, has always yearned for the days of the 80's, cherishing memories from his upbringing in Albany. As technology evolved and screens became the norm, Tom's passion for reviving the spirit of those times grew stronger. Together with his wife Sharon, daughter Sammy, and son Mike, Tom has been on a relentless mission to recreate the vibrant entertainment experiences of his youth for both his family and the Albany community.
Throughout the years, they've owned South West Amusements, SimWorld, Albany Ten Pin Bowl, Central 70 Drive-In, GT Karting, Kalgan Stampede, and the Kalgan River Music Festival. In October 2023, the Kennedy's closed Albany Ten Pin Bowl and decided to focus all their efforts into their biggest project to date...Wild West Bowling.
With a new location, a unique Western theme, and an opportunity to create something truly groundbreaking, they faced numerous challenges, from battling government departments to financial constraints. Despite these setbacks, Tom's vision remained steadfast, fuelled by the support of the Albany community.
Through daily updates on Facebook, we’ve sparked local interest and support, with 66 businesses and individuals sponsoring materials and services for our extravagant fit-out. Thanks to this collective effort, they even managed to reduce the Western Power upgrade quote from $47,000 to $27,000.
Today, we are proud to offer a venue that revives the friendly competition of bowling, classic arcade games, a bucking bull, and racing simulators – all within a unique environment that caters to both children and adults. We are so grateful to everyone who has supported us on this journey and helped turn our vision into reality. Thank you for being part of our Wild West adventure.
